About Matchbook

Matchbook is a revolutionary sports betting exchange designed for the professional and savvy sports bettor. Matchbook has one main goal, to return the maximum amount of value to the punter.
Matchbook's liquid markets and low commissions offer all punters a competitive advantage over betting with a regular bookmaker or other betting exchange alternatives.
Having been in operation since 2004, Matchbook has the most significant pool of US sports liquidity available. The company was acquired in 2011 by a group of investors with background in the UK sports wagering and banking sectors.
Their goal, to become a similarly significant player in the European and Asian betting markets, begins with the launch of a multi-lingual and multi-currency site, alongside mobile applications, in early 2012.

Multi-currency

14/3/2012 - Matchbook.com Ready to expand in European & Asian market

Matchbook Betting Exchange is delighted to announce the release of their new multi-currency platform. This will allow all customers to bet in Euro, Sterling, Canadian and Hong Kong Dollars, as well as the previously available US Dollars. Since being newly acquired in early 2011, there has been heavy investment in the product and this is the first of a number of exciting announcements, including a fully functional mobile application, to come in the next few months.
Commenting on the announcement, Andrew Pantling, CEO of Matchbook.com said:
"We are very happy to announce that all customers of Matchbook will now be able to bet in currencies other than USD. Since March 2011 , when the company was newly acquired, the growth we have achieved has surprised even us. This further confirms our belief that the industry is crying out for a low commission, betting exchange alternative which delivers value back to the punter."
These are exciting times for Matchbook and sports gamblers alike, and will allow us to expand on the growth we've already seen, as well as adding to our position as the number 1 place to bet NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB."

WSOP 2012

31/5/2012 - Matchbook.com Announces Team Pros For 2012 World Series of Poker

Sam Trickett, JP Kelly, Roberto Romanello, Matt Perrins, James Akenhead And Daniel ‘Jungleman’ Cates Among 10-Strong Team To Represent Betting Exchange in Las Vegas
With the World Series of Poker 2012 underway Matchbook.com is pleased to announce its roster of team pros who will officially represent the company at this year’s WSOP.
Boasting close to $20 million in live tournament earnings Matchbook’s poker team is made up of some of the biggest stars in the game.
European Player of the Year Sam Trickett will be amongst the team at this year’s Series and is eagerly anticipating his entry into the Big One for One Drop tournament, the world’s largest ever poker tournament with a staggering $1million buy in.
Roberto Romanello, who recently scooped two European Poker Tour awards, is also among the impressive line-up which features two-time bracelet winner JP Kelly, last year’s bracelet winner Matt Perrins, former WSOP final tablist James Akenhead and last year’s final table bubble boy John Hewitt.
Also on the team are well-known Brits, Martins Adeniya and Ben Vinson. Jarred Solomon is the lone South African with Daniel ‘Jungleman’ Cates the sole American player.
Despite not having any high profile live tournament honours to his name Cates is largely regarded as one of the best online no-limit hold’em players in the world and is keen to make his mark in this year’s WSOP.
Josh Green, Matchbook’s marketing manager commented: "Although Matchbook doesn’t have a poker product we are striving to become the number one destination for all poker betting and have just put up some markets for this year’s WSOP which cover bracelet bets and special match ups for the One Drop tournament. The volume and liquidity we are taking for these bets is unrivalled."
Sam Trickett added: "It was an easy choice partnering with Matchbook for the WSOP. Not only are all the players extremely talented but the majority of the team are also very good friends. It’s a unique environment to have as a poker team but provides us all with added support. I’m sure we are all going to have a fun and profitable summer together."
Matchbooks Team Pro’s can be followed at Matchbookmedia.com, a newly launched sports content site that will be going live on June 1, 2012 providing blogs and updates from all the players at this year’s WSOP and beyond.
